Bernie's reaction towards Turkey and Bahrain

F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone wants the Turkish GP to continue hosting races next year but is unlikely to do organisers any favors by slashing costs.

Speculation intensified that Turkey may not host a race next year after the head of Istanbul's Chamber of Commerce Murat Yalcintas - citing an increase in the fee to stage it - last month expressed reservations about bringing the sport back.

Fia's statements on bahrain race reschedule

Formula One's governing body, the FIA, have refused to be drawn on when a decision will be taken over the future of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

It was reported on Monday that the deadline over the decision, originally set for yesterday, had been moved forward 24 hours.

Organisers of the Bahrain GP continue to live in hope that the race can take place later this year after the FIA granted an extended deadline to determine if a new date can be set.

Motor sport's governing body confirmed on Monday that organisers now have until June 3 - the date of the next FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in Barcelona - to prove that it can safely stage the event.

The Gulf Kingdom was originally pencilled in to host the opening grand prix of the 2011 season on March 13, but the race was postponed in February due to the civil unrest in the country.

The FIA originally announced a May 1 deadline to determine if the event could be rescheduled for later this year, but revealed on Monday that the deadline has been extended by a month.

Bernie and FIA at odds over renewal date of Behrain

Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA appear to be at odds over the deadline for a final decision on whether or not the Bahrain GP will be rescheduled.

The Gulf country was due to host the 2011 season opener on March 13, but the race was cancelled due to the ongoing political unrest.

F1's governing body originally told organisers they had until May 1 to decide whether the race could be rescheduled but Ecclestone on Thursday promised to give them until "early June or something like that".

Bahrain wants returns in F1 near future...!!!

The organisers of the Bahrain GP are keen to see F1 return to their circuit, however, are not sure if it will be this season.

The Bahrain GP was scheduled to take place in March but was postponed after political unrest swept through the island kingdom.

And although Bernie Ecclestone is determined to give the country until "early June or something like that" to resolve their issues, the Bahrain organisers concede their first priority must be to resolve the political issues within the country.

"We gratefully acknowledge the understanding of Formula One Management and the FIA in what have been difficult times," Bahrain International Circuit chairman Zayed Rashid Alzayani said in a statement.
