Ferrari expect to be better in turkey....!!!

Ferrari will introduce a new front wing at the Turkish Grand Prix, but chief designer Nikolas Tombazis warns that it is unlikely that they will be in the position that they "should be".

The Scuderia have made a disappointing start to the 2011 campaign and Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa are yet to claim a podium position three races into the season. The team have also struggled with their pace in qualifying with Alonso claiming their best grid position of P5.

After a lengthy break between the Chinese Grand Prix and the upcoming Turkish GP, Tombazis feels they have improved.

"I think we will be closer, but I don't think in Turkey we will be in the position we should be in," Tombazis said in an interview with Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

F1 teams will face more strict custom checks

F1 teams will now face more stringent custom checks after a team truck from the Superbike World Championship was allegedly found carrying drugs through Dover last month.

According to the Daily Telegraph, "on board the Kawasaki Racing Team trucks, officers allegedly discovered 18lbs (8kg) of cocaine, 157lbs (71kg) of amphetamine tablets and more than 220lbs (100kg) of cannabis - as well as a handgun and 35 rounds of ammunition

The four technicians on the truck, which was from the Paul Bird Motorsport based in Lancashire, were arrested and later bailed.

The bust is set to have consequences for all motorsport teams, including those from Formula One.

A UKBA source the newspaper: "Our intelligence analysts will be looking much more closely at motorsport vehicles from now on, including Superbikes and even Formula One.

"They have been pulled over very rarely and that will now change."

Bernie and FIA at odds over renewal date of Behrain

Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA appear to be at odds over the deadline for a final decision on whether or not the Bahrain GP will be rescheduled.

The Gulf country was due to host the 2011 season opener on March 13, but the race was cancelled due to the ongoing political unrest.

F1's governing body originally told organisers they had until May 1 to decide whether the race could be rescheduled but Ecclestone on Thursday promised to give them until "early June or something like that".

Bahrain wants returns in F1 near future...!!!

The organisers of the Bahrain GP are keen to see F1 return to their circuit, however, are not sure if it will be this season.

The Bahrain GP was scheduled to take place in March but was postponed after political unrest swept through the island kingdom.

And although Bernie Ecclestone is determined to give the country until "early June or something like that" to resolve their issues, the Bahrain organisers concede their first priority must be to resolve the political issues within the country.

"We gratefully acknowledge the understanding of Formula One Management and the FIA in what have been difficult times," Bahrain International Circuit chairman Zayed Rashid Alzayani said in a statement.

F1 will get more intense...!!! Schumi says

Michael Schumacher believes Mercedes GP can build on their Chinese GP progress when they head to Turkey next weekend.

Schumacher's team-mate Nico Rosberg came to the fore last time out in Shanghai, claiming fourth place on the grid. The younger German eventually finished P5 after leading the grand prix for a number of laps.

It was, Schumacher is hoping, a sign of things to come.
