Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA appear to be at odds over the deadline for a final decision on whether or not the Bahrain GP will be rescheduled.
The Gulf country was due to host the 2011 season opener on March 13, but the race was cancelled due to the ongoing political unrest.
F1's governing body originally told organisers they had until May 1 to decide whether the race could be rescheduled but Ecclestone on Thursday promised to give them until "early June or something like that".
However, the FIA insists that the original May 1 date still stands.
"As far as we are concerned a decision is still due on Sunday," a spokesperson told The Telegraph. "Because it's a weekend it may be Monday morning that we announce the decision, but we haven't spoken to Mr Ecclestone about any delay.
"The decision will be a joint one between the FIA, [Ecclestone's] Formula One Management and the Bahrain authorities."
